Iowa Healthy Edge Meats, LLC (IHEM) is a Midwest-based producer-owned and operated goat meat company that gets all of its goat supply from high-quality locally-grown Midwestern goats. A total of five Iowa producers are owner members of the corporation.

To provide a high-quality product and provide a steady supply of meat products which meet consumer demands and allows for a consistent market for producers.
Our Products:
IHEM meat products are sold under the name of Heartland Pride, a division of IHEM. IHEM has two lines of products, the premium line and the consumer line.
Premium Line of Goat Products
Goats must be at least ¾ meat goat blood lines (Boer, Spanish Meat Goat, Kiko, etc.). This line of product includes premium cuts that are processed, vacuum packed and sealed at the Edgewood Locker, Edgewood, IA, which is federally inspected and approved.
Consumer Line of Goat Products
Goats can be meat goat breeds or dairy goat market billies or does. This line includes goat carcasses, goat carcasses cut in 6-8 pieces and boxed, or 2-inch cubed goat meat. The consumer line is processed at a federally inspected and approved plant in western Iowa.
Our Location:
IHEM is an Iowa-based company, with headquarters in West Union, Iowa. IHEM members are located in eastern and central Iowa. IHEM is building a system of buying stations throughout southern, eastern, and central Iowa and southwestern Wisconsin.
Goat Production Standards
Goat producers must meet stringent standards to sell their finished market goats to IHEM, which in turn gives a consistent quality end meat product.

Market Prices
IHEM will buy your market goats if they meet our standards of production. IHEM will quote you a pay price per pound of carcass weight even months before you deliver your goats. In fact, we would prefer to know approximately how many goats you will have for sale and when they will be ready for market.
